Salem was founded in 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, by Finnish members of the National Synod. In approximately 1964, Salem National joined the LCMS, with the proviso that she maintain her right to seat a minority of Deaconesses on the Board of Deacons and Deaconesses. Salem is no longer predominately Finnish, but still conservative and faithful to the three creeds.
Adult Bible Study is offered September through May at 9am before service.
